Month 6 & 7
Its been
a while since my last update so here goes:
I now live out
with the others in my herd, in all I am grazing with 8 other horses and I have
grasped the concept of “pecking” orders in the field, fortunately without being
kicked – just a few nibbles on my back.
I spend my
evenings and nights living out and come in during the day for a rest with my
“mum” Polly.
Its very tiring
staying out all night, but I do enjoy a good snooze during the day.
Because I can go
out with the others I get to go in much bigger fields to gallop around in (and
lakes to paddle in).
I still enjoy
being stroked & brushed by my family and stand still for the children to
get close to me.
Sully has been
out on 2 sponsored rides recently and has behaved well on both,
his legs have stood up well to the very hard ground. Because it was so hard at this event mum
didn’t jump him.
Soon it will be
me in the horsebox, mum has details of my first 1 year
old in hand show!
On a sad note I
lost one of my friends from the yard.
George was sent to horsey heaven after
treatment for his “kissing spine” failed to help with the pain he was
constantly in.
He will be sadly
missed by us all.
Enjoy playing
with Hattie & Bracken, we remember you all dearly.
